Abstract

The postpartum period is a transformative time in a woman's life, not only emotionally and physically but also dermatologically. Many mothers experience changes in their skin due to hormonal fluctuations, stress, and sleep deprivation. These changes may include hyperpigmentation, acne, melasma, and accelerated skin aging. In Kenya and other underserved regions, these conditions often go unnoticed and untreated, affecting self-esteem and mental health.

This presentation examines the groundbreaking integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in postpartum skin care, particularly in the realms of rejuvenation and cosmetic dermatology. Drawing insights from clinical observations at MamaSmart AI Maternity Hospital and digital feedback loops from rural healthcare settings, this paper introduces a novel framework: 'AI-Driven Dermatologic Rejuvenation for Mothers' (AIDRM). The AIDRM framework utilizes predictive analytics, personalized skin profiling, and AI-assisted treatment plans to offer targeted cosmetic care to postpartum women.

We also discuss the ethical, cultural, and infrastructural considerations in implementing AI skin solutions in low-resource settings. Case studies will highlight how AI algorithms have helped identify ideal treatment modalities for issues such as postpartum melasma and stretch marks, integrating both cosmetic science and community health perspectives.

This presentation ultimately emphasizes how cosmetology, maternal health, and emerging technology can merge to foster holistic, personalized care for new mothers—helping restore confidence and quality of life, one skin cell at a time.
